Takeshi Miki, Associate Professor at Institute of Oceanography, got awarded a prize from Japanese Society of Mathematical Biology “JSMB Young Scholar Award” this year. He was recognized as a young but experienced researcher who is studying on various topics in aquatic ecosystems, developing mathematical and theoretical ecology, and contributing to the education in NTU. Since Dr. Miki is also recognized as one of very few Japanese ecologists who work as a PI abroad, the JSMB would expect that more and more young researchers go abroad through giving the award to Dr. Miki this year.
